THE FLEET HARMONY STORY

In 2003, after spending almost 20 years in IT management and software development positions for several well-established businesses located in eastern Canada, President Rob MacKay decided that he had enough of the corporate grind and to strike it out on his own.   RMACKAY Data Systems was born.

In the early days, Rob provided mainly software development services for Windows and IBM iSeries / AS400 computers. And because of his involvement with networks and technology, he also managed a number of networks for several local companies.

In 2004, recognizing the market potential for Windows software applications geared to small transportation and distribution companies, Rob began to lay the foundation for Fleet Harmony – then named RMACDATA.  Fleet Harmony for Windows still has the basic core of the RMACDATA software which has stood the test of time and is used by companies throughout Canada.

Development for Fleet Harmony for Windows continues to this date and it has proven to be a rock solid fleet management software option for small offices.

The company experienced slow and steady growth for the next 10 years as features and enhancements were added to the software.

In 2008, we became a SAGE Accounting (then Simply) development partner and Fleet Harmony became SAGE compatible.

In the fall of 2013, MacKay had an idea for a Cloud-based fleet maintenance software system for companies with small to medium sized fleets that could be sold for an affordable subscription price that included licensing, usage, and support.  After doing some research on the Internet, and confirming with Nova Scotia Business Inc., he was surprised to learn that there were only a small handful of companies worldwide that were offering Cloud software for the transportation industry - none based out of Canada, and none specifically for fleet maintenance.

Using his extensive experience in project management and software development for the transportation and distribution industry, he spent the next 6 months, every free minute, thinking and designing a prototype; which is the basis of the system today.

In 2014, the initial version of Fleet Harmony Cloud Fleet maintenance software was finally released.  This new software product is Fleet Harmony’s most successful software offering.

The company spent the next year revamping the entire business and was incorporated under the name of Fleet Harmony Inc.

Fleet Harmony hired additional full-time and contract software developers to assist with software development, enabling Rob to focus more on Sales and Marketing.  Software enhancements and the addition of new features continue today, all under Rob’s direction and management.

A marketing consultant was hired and an extensive marketing campaign was launched along with a brand new web site - www.fleetharmony.com.  Fleet Harmony – Cloud Fleet Management began to grow.

Today, Fleet Harmony is a pioneer in Cloud Fleet maintenance software applications.  The company has experienced more rapid growth since the release of its fleet maintenance / CMMS software, with new customers throughout Canada and the United States coming online every month.  The company still provides software development and consulting services for the Internet, Windows, and the IBM iSeries.

At Fleet Harmony, we are all about forming and nurturing relationships with our customers.  We are first and foremost a software development and service provider with a heavy emphasis on service.  We believe that Fleet Harmony Cloud - Fleet maintenance and management is the best trucking software service on the market for companies with small to medium-sized fleets that have heavy equipment repair challenges.
