What are Core Charges?
Core charges are deposits you pay when buying parts with recyclable components. You get this deposit back when you return the old part. Tracking these charges is crucial due to their costs.
The old way to track core charges?
Juggling core charges using a fleet maintenance spreadsheet? Need for a better, more effective, and efficient solution, we make tracking core charges easy!
How to Track Core Charges
Say goodbye to spreadsheets! Fleet Harmony can help simplify core charge tracking and make it a breeze:
Enter the core charge: Add it when you input the part on the work order. You can save this info for future use.
Update on return: When the old part is returned, update the credit field on the work order. Also, note the credit slip number in the Invoice or PO number field.
Core Charge Report
Our new report, found under “Reports – Work Orders,” lets you manage outstanding core charges easily. It includes:
Date range selection
Sorting by unit ID
Details on core charges, taxes, and credits
Crediting Feature
Now, you can create work orders with negative parts or labor quantities, leading to a negative cost work order. When you enter a negative quantity for a part:
The parts file isn’t updated
The part warranty date isn’t saved
Inventory quantity for the part is updated
Fleet Harmony’s cloud-based fleet maintenance software is also pushing the envelope with maintenance management. Give us a shout to learn more.
